The project aims at enhancing the basic English skills of the applicant school's cross- boundary students (CBS) through developing an assessment system measuring students' basic English levels, interactive teaching software to be used in after-school lessons and a self-directed learning programme at home.
The project aims at facilitating the teaching and learning of the Radiation and Radioactivity unit in the Physics curriculum of 5 secondary schools by designing and running model experiments with supplementary documents as well as organising visit to the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) radiation monitoring station, trial running of experiments in the university's laboratory for the students, teacher training workshop and student seminar. Education packages of radiation and radioactivity experiments will be produced as tangible deliverables.
The project aims at promoting the understanding of stress and anxiety among students of the 13 collaborating primary schools with early identification and intervention through administering questionnaire survey on how students cope with pressure and stress assessment; conducting briefing/training sessions for teachers and students, a 15-hour intensive group training for the needy students in each school and three 4-hour parent-child camping for the student groups and their parents; and compiling the project materials in a VCD for dissemination to all primary schools.
The project aims at fostering the moral development, communication skills and sense of responsibility of 90 pre-primary pupils of 3 kindergartens through holding students' activities relating to civic education and creative art. Relevant teaching resources in civic education and creative art will be the project outcome.
The project aims at enhancing students' language proficiency, learning motivation and interests and teachers' competency in curriculum design and teaching Chinese Language; through revising the existing school-based Primary One to Primary Six Chinese Language curriculum with elements of drama in education, small class teaching and process writing in the applicant's school; organising 6 workshops for the subject teachers of the applicant school;developing a comprehensive set of school-based Chinese Language curriculum materials comprising 48 thematic learning units, 12 enquiry studies and 12 creative literature curriculum materials and on-line self-learning exercises for the use of teachers and students in the applicant school; and conducting annually one sharing session inside the applicant school and one with other schools.
