The project aims at enhancing the Chinese Language ability and communication skills of students with severe intellectual disabilities (SID) as well as fostering the application of these skills in their daily life through the development of two mobile applications (apps).
The project aims at facilitating the knowledge construction of students with mild intellectual disability (MiID) and nurturing their thinking skills by developing a mind map mobile application (app) as well as promoting mind map as a tool for assessing students' thinking abilities.
The project aims at enhancing the skills of teacher in nurturing the development of positive values and character of students through various learning and teaching activities. 3000 students, 300 teachers and 4000 parents will benefit directly from the project. The tangible deliverables will be a set of story books and teaching kits.
The project aims at enhancing students' ability in and attitude towards self-directed learning as well as catering learner diversity through setting up a school-based one-stop e-learning platform for the provision of learning and teaching resources for Chinese Language.
The project aims to use a longitudinal approach to investigate the influence of participating in sports/ physical activities (PA) on academic performance. Change in physical fitness will also be assessed as a secondary measure. The outcome of the study will serve as an important reference for schools, teachers, parents and students to help enhance their awareness on the effect of participation in physical activities. The tangible deliverables will include a report and press release on the project findings.
