The project aims at applying Positive Psychology approach to enhance the wellbeing of students in the applicant kindergarten with collaboration of another 3 kindergartens under the same sponsor and building the capacity of teachers and parents in Positive Discipline and developing students' positive characters, emotion and social skills. Production of a self-learning teaching kit will be the deliverables.
The project aims at developing a social skills curriculum with local context in support of about 30-40 S1-S4 students with ASD from 5 secondary schools; enhancing schools' and the community's awareness of the need to nurture and develop ASD students' social skills; training their peers to be 'social coaches' to help them acquire social skills and build social network; as well as empowering teachers and about 40 parents in improving the social skills of students with ASD. Major deliverables include the production and distribution to all local secondary schools a curriculum package on developing the social skills of young people with ASD and dissemination seminar for secondary school teachers and social workers for sharing the project outcomes.
The project aims at catering for about 500 students' differential abilities and needs in English learning using interactive dialogue and creative literacy activities at P.1 and P.4 in 4 primary schools; equipping teachers in these schools with effective and innovative instructional methods in teaching English to diverse learners; as well as enhancing students' English proficiency and creativity, promoting their interest in reading and active use of English in classroom. Major deliverables include a teaching manual and website with detailed guidelines on the practical use of interactive dialogue and creative activities that local schools could employ; 2 to 3 newspaper or journal publications on HK children's English learning and creativity development; and seminars for teachers on the use of interactive dialogue and creative literacy activities to cater for learner diversity.
Designing and developing an effective feedback system to assess Secondary One students’ writing performance in 8 collaborating schools. The objectives of the project include investigating and analyzing on the current issues faced by teachers and students in feedback in students’ writing; enhance teachers’ professional development in quality feedback giving; promoting school-based experiences and collaborative lesson planning, thus contributing to the ultimate aim of enhancing Assessment for Learning in practical classroom settings.
The project aims at enhancing P1 to P3 students' reading and self-directed learning skills through designing e-readers and comprehension questions of a School-based Graded Reading Levelling Programme (SBLP), creating an English-rich environment for P1 to P6 students, and improving students' English Language ability through establishing a reading corner.
