The project aims at developing 56 P1 to S6 severely intellectually disabled (ID) students' moral values, interpersonnal skills, reading skills and interest in reading through designing a series of reading lessons at different key stages and production of reading resource packages. Six set of reading resource packages which include story books, puppets and sculptures of characters in the stories, together with videos which recorded the reading lessons are the deliverables of the project.
The project aims at developing young children's creativity and imagination through art lessons so as to enhance their aesthetic knowledge and art appreciation skills; and enhancing the teaching and curriculum designing skills of teachers in art. It also strengthens the nurturing of moral education in “benevolence, love, diligence, honesty” and helps teachers to grasp effective teaching skills in teaching moral education and encourages young children to display morally good behaviour. About 80 teachers, 600 students and 300 parents from the 3 participating schools will benefit from the proposed project. Picture books on moral education will be the project deliverables.
The project aims at nurturing students with the knowledge and moral values of the traditional Chinese culture by introducing to students the aesthetic philosophy 「美」and concepts conveyed in The Analects, Three Character Classic and Standards for Students (論語、三字經、弟子規). The learning and teaching materials of the 16 Classic lessons for students and 3 lessons for parents will be the project's tangible deliverables.
The project aims to enhance students' interests in Chinese music and develop their self-confidence through incorporating the elements of Chinese music into the school-based P.1 to P.3 Music curriculum as well as establishing a Chinese orchestra. The tangible deliverables will be the development of the school-based Music curriculum and students' performances.
The project aims at organizing sponsor-based training for about 100 serving and aspiring vice principals coming from about 40 primary or secondary schools (of 5 school sponsors including Tsung Tsin Mission of Hong Kong) on capacity building and to enhance their leadership and management skills in dealing with resource and staff management, team building and meeting new challenges. Deliverables are mainly intangible including the establishment of a stronger administrative team at the participating schools and formation of a network among the participants to strengthen the bond and mutual support among the100 participants.
