The project aims at developing the thinking skills and English competence in English as a Second Language (ESL) of about 300 P4-6 students at 2 primary schools and 300 S1-3 students at 2 secondary schools through a Philosophy in Schools (PIS) programme. Major deliverables are a DVD on how PIS works in different contexts and a project website for public access to its resources.
The project aims at enhancing about 110 P5 – P6 students' critical thinking ability and helping them to understand the importance of collecting evidence and thinking from multiple perspectives through introducing a simplified legal thinking curriculum and organisng a pull-out programme for P5 and P6 students in the applicant school. Learning and teaching resource materials and a DVD with video records of students' performance will be developed in the project.
The project aims at raising students' environmental awareness, developing good environmental habits as well as creating a "ripple effect" to influence community through the enhanced school-based Loop Program built on a QEF project 2013/0063.
The proposed project aims at enhancing students' interests in performing Woodwind instruments and Brass instruments in collaboration with professional commanders and promoting home-school cooperation through conducting a training programme and Orchestra performances. 28 P.1-P.6 students and 16 teachers and 28 parents will benefit from the project. Students will give 6 performances at the school and participate in 5 public performances.
