The project aims at conducting Seminars/ workshops to enrich teachers' pedagogical repertoire and broaden their understanding of students' needs in learning in English; providing teacher development course and onsite support to equip teachers with knowledge and skills in using applied theatre in English language teaching and learning, and building network and electronic platform as resources for long term support for the teaching and learning of English in secondary schools. A website with lesson plans and intranet system to support cross-school networking will be the project deliverables. There will be 50 participating schools and it is aniticipated that 4200 secondary school students and 2480 teachers will benefit from the project.
The project aims at introducing the concept of “World Ethic” to junior secondary and senior primary students for constructing the framework of Moral, Civic and National Education in Hong Kong. In the long run, this will bring about a structured school-based curriculum in Moral, Civic and National Education, and help schools to serve as a platform for contending against the distorted values in the society and enhance the quality of citizens. The project deliverables include a website with relevant information and teaching packages for senior primary and junior secondary students.
The project aims at supporting primary schools in Mathematics teaching by training Mathematics teachers and teacher leader and identifying students' learning difficulties through designing assessment in learning tools so as to effectively enhance teaching and learning. The project outcomes include Mathematics teaching plan and teaching packages, lesson plans, video clips of the 4 inter-school open lesson observations and lesson, research report on the outcome of the proposed project, and a website for uploading the video clips of the open lesson observations and other related information.
The project aims at promoting career education and development in 30 secondary schools through a school-based peer career counselling intervention model with a total of 300 senior form students trained up as peer counsellors each coaching a group of 5 junior form schoolmates as well as assisting in the whole-school career-related events and activities. The tangible deliverable includes the production of a sytematic self-directed career peer guidance and counselling training package and manual.
The project aims at promoting Chinese art and culture through structured 3-year training of Cantonese Opera for groups of S1 / S2 / S3 students in the 2 participating PLK secondary schools, arousing their interest and enhancing their appreciation towards Cantonese Opera and developing a 3-year structured curriculum program for secondary students to learn and master the basic skills of Cantonese Opera performance. Deliverable includes the development of a 3-year structured curriculum program for secondary students to learn and master the basic skills of Cantonese Opera performance.
