Effective Learning (5 Mar 2010)

Quality Education Fund (QEF) invited the STEP Center for Child Development to share with schools the experience of implementing their QEF project, especially the introduction of distinguishing pupils with Asperger’s syndrome, hyperactive pupils and children with reading and writing difficulties and suggesting relevant learning strategies and activities. Six professionals answered participants’ questions regarding how to take care of pupils with special educational needs. ELCHK Kwai Shing Lutheran Primary School opened their classrooms to lesson observations, letting participants observe how to take care of pupils with Asperger’s syndrome, hyperactive pupils and pupils with reading and writing difficulties and have a discussion with the teachers concerned after the lessons. This activity also invited parents to participate to enhance the home-school co-operation in taking care of pupils with special educational needs.
