The proposed project aims at arousing students' interests in studying History, enhancing students' understanding of the historical and cultural development of Hong Kong and her relationship with Mainland China, fostering the awareness of conservation, promoting the learning of Chinese culture as well as enhancing students' generic skills and cultural literacy through studying the history of Hong Kong streets.
The project aims at increasing the education sector and parents' understanding of the historical development of the Belt and Road (B & R) countries, cultural exchanges between the East and West, international interdependence; and facilitate their reflection of Hong Kong's role and contribution in the Belt & Road Initiative with a view to enhance HK's integrated competence through talks, quizzes, study tours, radio programmes and publication of a handbook on the Belt & Road Initiative.
The project aims at cultivating students' sense of belonging to the nation and the country; understanding the spirit of Chinese culture's inclusiveness and innovation; respecting and caring for the development of the country and Hong Kong; prompting students' generic skills and ability to organise, synthesise and analyse historical data; and cultivating their self-confidence, cultural literacy and learning ability.
The project aims at sustaining the impact of the previous project (2014/0359: Chinese History and Culture Academy: Cultural Conflict between China and the West(Han Dynasty - Ming Dynasty)) through introducing Hong Kong history in order to enhance students' understanding to the Chinese history as well as the relationship between the Country and Hong Kong. A total of 450 students and 300 teachers will directly benefit from this project. Project deliverables are a website and electronic learning and teaching resources.
