Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Schools (QTN-S)
This programme is the continuation of the Professional Development Schools Scheme financed by the Education Development Fund. Schools with exemplary practices in learning and teaching and a good sharing culture will form a network with participating schools, focusing mainly on specific pedagogical themes to promote inter-school collaboration and professional exchange through various exchange activities.Promotion of STEM Education through the School-based Science and Bio-technology Curricula (2022/23)

To provide professional training and support to teachers and laboratory technicians of participating schools on bio-technology and STEM education; To support teachers in developing bio-technology and STEM education learning activities for school-based junior secondary science curriculum so as to enhance students’ knowledge and experimental skills in bio-technology as well as their creativity and problem solving skills; To establish an interactive learning community to promote interschool interaction and professional exchange on professional technological innovation; To promote bio-technology and STEM education in the participating schools, the secondary school sector and in Hong Kong.
Implementing AI in STEM Education & Social Intelligence, through Refining School-based Curriculum and Establishing Structured Professional Learning Community (2022/23)

To assist participating schools in designing and implementing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in STEM education through refining school-based curriculum and establishing structured professional learning community in Technology Education and Science Education according to school context, and promoting students’ learning and application of STEM education and AI, based on the rich experience of the networking coordinating school; To form professional collaborative platforms for participating schools to develop sustainable STEM education and AI education.
Enhancing the Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Students’ Ability to Learn Chinese Language through Designing and Adapting the School-based Curriculum (2022/23)

The project aims to enhance the effectiveness of learning Chinese Language of NCS students through the refinement of the school-based curriculum planning, learning and teaching strategies, and the use of assessment tools.
Promoting Self-directed Learning Skills through School-based English Curriculum (2022/23)

To help teachers develop students’ self-directed learning skills in English by developing a school-based curriculum and creating a language-rich learning environment; To support teachers in developing a sustainable school-based curriculum.
Constructing Mathematical Concepts and Fostering Students’ Attitude Regarding Self-directed Learning through Enquiry Learning (2022/23)

To widen teachers’ repertoire of learning and teaching strategies so as to enhance students’ learning interest and motivation, refine their learning strategies and strengthen their ability of understanding mathematical concepts; To foster teachers’ professional development by integrating theory, learning and teaching practices and reflection through lesson designs.
