Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Schools (QTN-S)
This programme is the continuation of the Professional Development Schools Scheme financed by the Education Development Fund. Schools with exemplary practices in learning and teaching and a good sharing culture will form a network with participating schools, focusing mainly on specific pedagogical themes to promote inter-school collaboration and professional exchange through various exchange activities.Teaching Chinese with Storybooks (2021/22)

To assist schools in developing a school-based storybook teaching curriculum that cater for students’ different learning characteristics;
To enhance students’ interest in reading and learning Chinese, enrich students’ imagination and nurture their thinking skills;
To enhance the professional development of teachers through co-planning, selecting suitable storybooks as learning and teaching materials and designing a school-based curriculum and open lessons; and
To facilitate the connection between schools through cross-school networks.
Enhancing Classroom Interaction and Learning Effectiveness in Chinese Language through Innovative Learning and e-Learning (2021/22)

To cater for learner diversity by providing students with interactive and interesting learning experiences with the adoption of e-Learning platforms/learning tools in classroom teaching;
To enhance learning effectiveness by improving the assessment design, feedback, analysis and follow-up strategies with the adoption of Intelligent Assessment System/e-Platforms; and
To develop students’ self-directed learning through promoting Assessment as Learning.
Development of Chinese Curriculum Leadership and Teacher Professional Learning Community for Teaching Non-Chinese speaking (NCS) Students (2021/22)

To support Participating Schools to develop the curriculum leadership in the learning and teaching of Chinese for NCS students with reference to the Chinese Language Curriculum Second Language Framework and other resources;
To enhance the professional capacity of teachers in teaching Chinese for NCS students;
To develop appropriate learning and teaching materials, consolidate experience and establish the professional learning community of Chinese teachers of NCS students; and
To provide appropriate learning activities for NCS students so as to enhance their Chinese proficiency, assist them in understanding the Chinese culture and cope with different levels of public examinations.
Practising STEM Education in General Studies to Enhance the Effectiveness of Students’ Learning of Science, Technology and Mathematics (2021/22)

To enhance teachers’ teaching skills of STEM education, e.g. prediction, inquiry, observation, conclusion and fair test;
To facilitate teachers to design student learning portfolios so as to enhance the learning effectiveness of students in STEM education and to enhance students’ reflection and self-management skills using the learning portfolio as an assessment tool;
To establish an interactive professional learning community that allows teachers’ mutual sharing of their experience of lesson design and teaching; and
To facilitate the consolidation and adaptation of the school-based General Studies curriculum in the Participating Schools.
Promoting STEM Education through Developing Cross-curricular Learning Activities according to the Curriculum (2021/22)

To enhance teachers’ capacity:
In designing and implementing cross-curricular activities on STEM education so as to strengthen the coherence and collaboration among teachers of the Science, Technology and Mathematics Education KLAs to promote the development of STEM education;
In consolidating students' subject knowledge through activities and unleashing their potential in innovation; and
In developing the ability of students to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills across different subject disciplines for problem solving, as well as cultivating their interests in subjects related to STEM education.
