Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Tertiary Institutes (QTN-T)

This programme is the continuation of the University-School Support Programmes financed by the Education Development Fund. With the experience in research-based pedagogy and classroom practices, the tertiary institutes will provide schools with diversified professional support services to cater for different schools’ development needs.

  • An Integrated Self-directed Learning Approach to School-based STEM Development (In-STEM) (2021/22)

This project aims to provide support to teachers to enhance their capacity to integrate self-directed learning (SDL) into STEM education, develop and implement a school-based curriculum in relation to STEM education, and assess students’ ability under STEM education so that students are facilitated to integrate and apply the knowledge and skills across different STEM disciplines, and develop self-directed learning, entrepreneurial spirit and 21st century skills through scientific investigation and engineering design. The project targets at upper primary (P.4-6) and lower secondary (S.1-3) school students and develop STEM school networks so as to foster a sustainable development of STEM education in schools.

To enhance the learning and teaching of Mathematics for non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students at primary levels (P1-P6), for classes of NCS students or for classes with a mixture of NCS students and local Chinese students with a view to embracing cultural and linguistic diversity (CALD); To develop suitable school-based curriculum, in alignment with the revised 2017 Mathematics Education Key Learning Area Curriculum Guide, including the design of relevant learning, teaching and assessment (LTA) materials on selected curriculum topics/units of Mathematics; and To build professional capacity of Mathematics teachers in teaching Mathematics to NCS students.
