Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks (QTNs)

This project aims at supporting schools to effectively adopt various strategies, e.g. optimising module planning and assignment design, utilising e-learning platforms and tools, creating learning contexts and using diversified assessment methods, to establish efficient mathematics lessons and arousing students’ learning interests, thereby grasping mathematical concepts and developing logical thinking. In addition, the project introduces different ways to employ e-learning platforms with peer sharing and messaging functions to record learning progress and encourage communication, collaboration and sharing among students. This is to enhance their information literacy and fosters proper values of respect for others and appreciation.

In 2024/25 school year, QEF sponsored 19 tertiary institutions, secondary schools and primary schools to implement QTNs, covering different subjects and themes. The QTNs aim to provide support to the participating primary and secondary schools and enhance professional exchanges as well as professional capacity building to facilitate continuous development of schools. Among all, 5 QTNs themed on STEAM Education and STEAM Education Resource Hub will provide support and venue for schools in the same and/or different districts to share experiences and equipment related to STEAM Education. The resource hub will organise various workshops and teachers who are interested are welcomed to enroll in these workshops.

This QTN aims at helping participating schools develop school-based STEAM-related curriculum and activities, carrying out the learning and teaching activities using different devices and hardware. The project also introduces the educational concept of “Maker” in school settings.

The QTN aims at helping participating schools ideate Mathematics subject to develop school-based STEAM-related curriculum and activities. The QTN fosters the developmet of students' growth mindset and problem solving skills. The QTN also provides teacher training and students workshops to enhance teachers' professional development and to develop students' different abilities.

The QTN aims at arousing students' interest in STEAM education. The QTN fosters the development of students' growth mindset and creative thinking through Artificial Intelligence (AI). The QTN also aims at fostering the developmet of students' growth mindset and problem solving.
