Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks (QTNs)

The QEF Thematic Network was initiated in 2006 to disseminate good practices derived from QEF projects and promote professional sharing through networking different schools and educational bodies.   • QEF Thematic Network on "STEAM+AI Literacy Collaborative Programs (Food Supply and Famine) cum STEAM Education Resource Hub" (2024/25)

This QTN aims at strengthening the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in STEAM education to solve the problem of “public hygiene and health”. The QTN fosters the development of students’ growth mindset and creative thinking through design tasks. The QTN also promotes STEAM education to different stakeholders by utilising the STEAM Education Resource Hub, and providing teacher training and student workshops.

This QTN aims at promoting STEAM education through equipping teachers from participating schools with the knowledge and skills of designing robotic-related learning activities to arouse students’ interest in STEAM education. During the project period, the QTN coordinator will conduct regular interschool sharing and discussion sessions to support teachers' professional development. The learning community established under the QTN will be maintained after the completion of this project so as to sustain professional exchange and development among teachers. The QTN coordinator will also allow teachers and students of participating schools and other schools to use the equipment purchased under the STEAM Education Resource Hub established by the coordinating school continuously.

This QTN aims at familiarising teachers with the use of tools and equipment through a series of regular workshops so as to facilitate their planning and setting up of school-based STEMaker spaces. Through carrying out a series of lesson observations, STEMaker curriculum will be either developed or deepened. The project will be delivered in four stages, i.e. Learning, Planning, Consolidation and Development stages. New participating schools will undergo a one-year programme so as to finish all the four stages.

This QTN aims at promoting STEAM education in primary and secondary schools with the use of science packages, micro-controllers and sensors. This QTN enhances teachers’ and students’ interest in learning science through engaging their participation in various activities and develop a professional learning community across secondary and primary schools so as to incorporate STEAM education in different learning stages.
