Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks (QTNs)

The QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on Kindergarten Education (Whole-person Development) was established in the 2012/13 school year. The project aims to establish a school network on kindergarten education (whole-person development) for capacity building of teachers and whole-person development of children.

The QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on Student Support was established in the 2011/12 school year. The project aimed to establish a school network which would provide support for students’ whole person development. The network coordinator would explore students’ behaviour on the internet and develop teaching strategies, aiming to build up positive internet culture among students and develop positive discipline among them.

The Quality Education Fund (QEF) commissioned the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to implement the “QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on Healthy Schools” in 2010/11 school year. The project aimed to foster the development of healthy schools, promote the concept and practice of developing healthy schools to all schools in Hong Kong and lay a solid foundation for the healthy development and long-term well-being of the next generation.

The QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on Chinese Language was established in the 2011/12 school year. The project aimed to assist schools in developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum for self-directed learning of students. It would also help students to acquire strategies and methods on self-directed learning.

The QEF Thematic Network (QTN) on Drama in Education was established in 2008. It aimed to integrate different models adopted by pre-primary and primary education through skills of drama so that teachers could more easily fulfill the different needs of teaching through stories, project learning, thematic teaching and language teaching.
