Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks (QTNs)

The QEF Thematic Network was initiated in 2006 to disseminate good practices derived from QEF projects and promote professional sharing through networking different schools and educational bodies. This QTN aims at helping participating schools develop into well-being-first schools where the well-being of students is the top priority. This QTN will also incorporate mental wellbeing education into school curriculum so as to nurture and strengthen resilience of students in biological, psychological and social aspects.

This QTN aims at establishing a school network in supporting the diverse learning needs (reading and writing) of junior secondary students/senior primary students. Through different kinds of training such as workshops and lesson observations, teachers’ professional capacity for applying various learning and teaching strategies in reading and writing will be enhanced. To cater for learner diversity, new information technology elements in learning materials will be incorporated.

In 2023/24 school year, QEF sponsored 11 tertiary institutions, secondary schools and primary schools to implement QTNs, covering different subjects and themes. The QTNs aim to provide support to the participating kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and enhance professional exchanges as well as professional capacity building to facilitate continuous development of schools. Among all, 4 QTNs themed on STEAM Education and STEAM Education Resource Hub will provide support and venue for schools in the same and/or different districts to share experiences and equipment related to STEAM Education. The resource hub will organise various workshops and teachers who are interested are welcomed to enroll in these workshops.

Quality Education Fund (QEF) organises diversified dissemination activities annually. Starting from 2006, QEF has been implementing QEF Thematic Networks (QTNs), aiming to connect different schools and education bodies, build up professional network, disseminate successful experiences and strengthen professional development as well as exchanges. In 2023/24 school year, QEF sponsored 11 tertiary institutions, secondary schools and primary schools to implement QTNs, which covered different subjects and themes. The QTNs has provided support to the participating kindergartens, primary and secondary schools and enhanced professional exchanges as well as professional capacity building to facilitate continuous development of schools. 11 QTNs dissemination seminar would be organized in the form of live sessions from 12 June to 2 July 2024 in the venues arranged by QTN Coordinators.
