The project aims at fostering positive emotion development of 120 S.1 to S.2 students of the collaborating school through developing a school-based training programme with the adoption of the theory of positive psychology. The tangible deliverables will be the learning and teaching materials available to the school and psychoeducation pamphlets on positive psychology.
The project aims at enhancing students' awareness in mental health and introducing emotional regulation and coping strategies through implementation of a school-based training programme for at least 220 S.1 to S.2 students in 3 participating schools and organizing teachers and parents' workshops. Research reports/journal articles and educational pamphlets for parents and students will be the tangible deliverables.
building on an approved project 2009/ 0115 on school engagement, it aims at (a) extending to upper primary school to track student engagement changes in the transition from primary to secondary school; (b) extending to senior secondary school to investigate the vicissitudes of school engagement of students in the new academic structure; and (c) developing and evaluating intervention programs for enhancing school engagement in both primary and secondary schools.
