Quality Education Fund Thematic Networks - Schools (QTN-S)

This programme is the continuation of the Professional Development Schools Scheme financed by the Education Development Fund. Schools with exemplary practices in learning and teaching and a good sharing culture will form a network with participating schools, focusing mainly on specific pedagogical themes to promote inter-school collaboration and professional exchange through various exchange activities.

The project aims to enhance teachers’ capacity in designing and implementing STEM cross-curricular activities so as to strengthen the collaboration among teachers of the Science, Technology and Mathematics Education KLAs and promote the development of STEM education; In consolidating students' subject knowledge and unleashing their potential in innovation through STEM learning activities; In developing students’ ability to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills across different subject disciplines for problem solving, as well as cultivating students’ interests in subjects related to STEM education.

To enhance teachers’ teaching skills of STEM education and scientific investigations, e.g. prediction, inquiry and observation; To lead teachers to design student learning portfolios so as to enhance the learning effectiveness of students in STEM-related areas and to promote students’ reflection and self-management; To establish an interactive teacher professional learning community that promotes experience sharing and professional dialogue; To facilitate the review and adaptation of school-based General Studies curriculum.
