Utilising Synthetic Phonics in Schools Catering for Children from Low-income Families with Significant Literacy Difficulties in Hong Kong

The project aims at creating an effective and enjoyable English learning environment for the 50 P.1 to P.2 students of the applicant school, with emphasis on improving the students' reading and spelling, through phonics teaching. School-based phonics teaching kits comprising a customized phonics programme, a phonics activity folder, worksheet folders and classroom phonics application handbooks will be produced as tangible deliverables.
