The project aims at having a better understanding of primary students' online reading habits and abilities, enhancing students' online reading skills and fostering teachers' professional capacity through conducting a survey, developing an online reading assessment platform and providing on-site support to collaborative schools.
To develop effective methods of teaching Chinese characters to young children in Hong Kong, the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research, Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, has conducted a QEF project to teach the young children to recognize and write Chinese characters through case studies, school visits, lesson observations and trial teachings.
