This book is about the changing nature of education in Hong Kong. It is an international comparative study of pedagogy and ICT-use in schools, focusing on how teaching and learning take place in mathematics and science classrooms and the role of ICT in them.
The proposed project aims at enhancing the learning effectiveness of Chinese at primary level through building an eLEARN platform with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology, developing learning and teaching materials with reference to the local Chinese language curriculum, providing professional training for language teachers and conducting research to inform the community about the future development of e-learning with computer-mediated reality.
The project aims at benchmarking the computer and information literacy (CIL) skills of Hong Kong students at Grade 4 and Grade 8 and the pedagogical use of ICT in Hong Kong classrooms using the international comparative data in the International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS) under the auspices of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA).
