The project aims to provide reference materials for junior secondary school students in Hong Kong to learn Chinese cultural knowledge in conjunction with the junior secondary school Chinese language curriculum. To arouse students' interest in learning Chinese language and improve their language ability and literary literacy. Cultivate students' positive outlook on life, establish correct morality. Also cultivate students' senses on the excellent Chinese culture, country and nation.
The project aims at enhancing students' interest in the learning of Chinese language and nurturing their sense of national identity through the Three Character Classic.
The project aims at providing learning and teaching resources on Chinese and Integrated Humanities for junior secondary students; providing support to teachers to help them develop teaching materials by exploring the rich traditional cultural elements and contemporary meaning of Confucian Analects; helping students to realise the linkage between local and Chinese culture through cultural activities. The students will be able to develop critical thinking skills and a sense of belonging to the motherland so that they will become a responsible citizen when they grow up. The project will benefit 12,000 students from 20 secondary schools. A teaching framework and teaching materials on “Confucian Analects and Modern Society”, periodicals on “Confucian Analects” and the related website will be the project deliverables.
