The project aims at sustaining the impact of the previous project (2013/0089 Chinese History and Culture Academy:200 years of Modern China (1800-2000)) by deepening the cognition of primary and secondary students in Chinese History and Culture as well as Western Culture, and enhancing their interest in learning more about our country and sense of belonging to our motherland. It is estimated that about 6,600 teachers and students will benefit from the project activities. The project deliverables include e-book and apps for learning and teaching
The proposed project aims at enhancing students' knowledge in Chinese History of the last 200 years and Culture, and developing students' responsibilities towards their motherland and critical thinking skills. About 10,000 secondary teachers and students will be benefited through talks, radio drama, workshops, postcard exhibition and trip to Taiwan. Learning resources and platform for learning Chinese History and Culture will be developed. The project deliverables include a e-book on Modern China from 1800-2000.
The applicant proposes to promote national education and strengthen the commitment of youngsters to their Chinese identity by teaching of the 5 domains of personal, family, social, national and global in Chinese history and culture. Seminar series covering five domains of MNE(Moral and National Education) subject and relevant teaching and learning resources, radio programmes with talks and sharing sessions on national education will be the project outcomes and deliverables.
