Dissemination Activities
Content : The QEF has invited the STEP Center for Child Development to share with schools the experience of implementing their QEF project, especially the introduction of distinguishing hyperactive and autistic pupils and suggesting relevant learning strategies and activities. Four professionals answered participants’ questions regarding how to take care of pupils with special educational needs. Sir Robert Black College of Education Past Students’ Association Ho Sau Ki School opened their classrooms to lesson observations, letting participants observe how to take care of hyperactive and autistic pupils and had a discussion with the teachers concerned after the lessons.

Content : To promote life education to S1 to S3 students, the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong, has conducted a QEF project at leading the students to reflect the meaning of life so as to treasure their life through organising a series of activities including experimental learning and drama-in-education.

Content : To enhance senior primary and junior secondary students’ awareness of crime and the consequences, the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong, has conducted a QEF project to help them to develop a right set of values so as to resist temptation of getting involved in bad deeds.

Dissemination Activities
Content : There were two projects for dissemination in this activity. The first project aimed at developing a set of integrated assessment tools to cater for the diverse developmental needs among pre-primary school pupils. The second project aimed at developing early assessment and identification tools as well as supporting programmes in order to cater for the diverse developmental needs of kindergarten children on areas such as speech, body co-ordination and concentration.

Dissemination Activities
Content : The QEF commissioned the Centre for University and School Partnership of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to set up a QEF Thematic Network on Kindergarten Education (Whole-person Development) starting from 2012/13 school year for capacity building of teachers. 2013 is the 15th Anniversary of QEF and a book containing the feelings of teachers, students and parents was produced. The book will be launched and distributed for free at the venue. Teachers will share teaching strategies on whole-person development of children.

Content : To enhance students’ Chinese language proficiency, learning motivation and interests, the Five Districts Business Welfare Association Chow Chin Yau School has conducted a QEF project to help teachers to develop a set of school-based primary one to six Chinese Language teaching and learning materials.

Content : To implement curriculum adaptation and promote co-operative learning in Chinese Language and English Language, Pentecostal Yu Leung Fat Primary School has conducted a QEF project to help students of diverse learning ability to develop their high-order thinking skills.

Dissemination Activities
Content : Two projects were conducted in this activity. The first project aimed at promoting health education to kindergarten students through helping them develop habits of regular exercise and healthy drinking and eating. Activities organized included parent-child fitness classes, an award scheme, a cooking competition and health talks on how to choose leisure activities and healthy food. The second project aimed at facilitating physical, emotional and social development of pre-school children. Lessons were designed to promote the imagination and of emotion expression of students.

Dissemination Activities
Content : The QEF encouraged applicants to enhance the efficiency in administrative work and reduces teachers’ workload through the use of a smart card system for attendance checking, fee collection and door lock, etc. To disseminate the project under this theme, QEF arranged a site visit and experience sharing from two schools to encourage other schools to consider applying for funding to use new technology.
